Contribution to the Special High-level Event on “the World Lake Day" (24 September 2024, New York)

On 24 September 2024, the Special High-level Event on “the World Lake Day" was held in New York.

This event aimed to discuss the importance of the conservation and sustainable development of lakes and reservoirs and to promote discussions towards a resolution at the United Nations to establish World Lake Day. The event was co-organized by the High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disaster (HELP), the Government of Indonesia and other countries and organizations that support the establishment of World Lake Day.

The United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) supported the event by inviting speakers and providing logistical support.
