Choudhury Rudra Charan Mohanty
Environment Programme Coordinator/Expert

Choudhury Rudra Chran Mohanty is currently leading the global networking for EST, 3R, and IPLA projects as an Environment Programme Coordinator/Expert. Prior to joining UNCRD in April 2003, he worked in the United Nations Environment Programme/Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (UNEP/RRC. AP), Thailand, for ten years (1993-2003) as a Senior Programme Officer/Head of Environment Assessment and Reporting. He also worked as an engineer in the area of land and water resources development for the Command Area Development Authority/Ministry of Water Resources in the State Government of Orissa, India (1988-1991). He obtained his bachelor's degree (Hons) in Agricultural Engineering and Technology from the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, India, and master's degree in Water Engineering and Management from the School of Civil Engineering/Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.

Ganesh Raj Joshi
Researcher (EST)

Ganesh Raj Joshi joined UNCRD in May 2012 as a EST Researcher. Prior to this, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Natural Environment, University of the Ryukyus, Japan and actively involved in research in the field of earth and environment sciences. He has published numerous articles in peer-review journals in areas of environment, disaster and earth sciences. From 2001 to 2005, he was based in Nepal and worked as a Lecturer in the various colleges including Tri-Chandra Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He holds a Master's degree in Geology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He also earned his second Master's degree in Physics and Earth Sciences and Ph.D. in Marine and Environment Science from University of the Ryukyus, Japan.

Anupam Khajuria
Researcher (3R and IPLA - a SDG Partnership)

Anupam Khajuria joined UNCRD in August 2014 as a 3R Researcher. Prior to this position, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow (2012-2014) at the Department of Civil Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), Tokyo, Japan, where she was involved in research in the field of groundwater engineering and global hydrological cycle. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of environmental science, particularly, in the field of waste and water engineering. She worked as a Research Associate (2011-2012) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India, where she did research in the areas of applications of vulnerability profile development in agriculture under climate change. She learned Geographic Information System (GIS) software to draw and analyze the land surface area during the Guest Researcher position in Department of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering at Osaka University, Japan. While completing PhD, she worked as a Research Assistant in Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) - Kansai Research Centre, Kobe, Japan. She obtained her Master degree (2005) in Environmental Science (Honors) from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India, and obtained her Ph.D. in the year 2010 from the Department of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Osaka University, Japan.
