UNCRD organized a special session on 10 March 2014 in Kyoto, Japan at the 3R International Scientific Conference (3RINCS). The session aimed at promoting a partnership with the Regional 3R Forum in Asia the Pacific such as the 5th meeting held in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 25-27 February 2014, enabling the research community for further discussions on policy recommendations and various issues. With issues concerning plastics in coastal and marine environment in mind, participants discussed environmental policies and the present status and perspective of the future network of the environmental research in Asia Pacific region.
