Contribution to the Training Event at WUF11
Date
Under the theme "Transforming our Cities for a Better Urban Future," the Eleventh Session of World Urban Forum (WUF11) was organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Katowice, Poland from 26 to June 2022, attended by 17,003 people from 155 countries.
UNCRD participated in the Training Event "Enhancing the capacity of local and regional governments for delivering the SDGs through a Whole-of Government approach, smart cities, enhanced infrastructure asset management and resilience, monitoring & evaluation and innovative finance and partnerships," which was co-organized by UN DESA and UNOSD on 30 June 2022.
UNCRD delivered the following presentations:
- Smart cities supporting an inclusive, sustainable and resilient society
- SDG monitoring and evaluation tools to accelerate actions at local level - Local experiences of conducting a VLR and building a smart cities
As local experiences, Honorable Mr. Toshihiko Ota, Mayor of the City of Toyota (short video) and Mr. Takehiro Kuribayashi, Chief Representative of the City of Yokohama Europe Representative Office joined the training event.
