Workshop for Capacity-Building in Local Administration through South-South Cooperation

Dates:  28-29 August 2003

Place:  Nairobi, Kenya

The above workshop will be held by the UNCRD Africa Office in collaboration with UN/DESA and UNDP. The workshop will discuss how to organize future programmes for capacity-building in local administration through South-South cooperation based on the results of the training needs survey conducted from May to July 2003 covering development agencies in Asian and African countries. Eighty-four government representatives and scholars are expected to participate in the workshop from six Asian countries (Bangladesh, China, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand) and six African countries (Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, and Uganda).
