Internal Articulation Workshop of the Project Promotion of Integrated Regional Development Planning and Management for an Equitable, Balanced and Sustainable Development

In the context of the ongoing agreement with the Government of Cundinamarca, an Internal Articulation Workshop, was held to consult with the governing body and the public servants of Cundinamarca on the identification of a long-term territorial vision for the Departmento for 2032, its priorities, strategic axes and projects, key stakeholders and strategic partners to be involved in the process. The workshop also aimed at identifying main opportunities and challenges of the project, and present the results achieved so far in the project, mainly the work of systematization of relevant territorial information, diagnoses and proposals (territorial occupation models, guidelines, directives, projects, etc.) and the route map and methodology for the integrated regional planning process.  This involved the  analysis and conclusions on the various territorial visions that have been proposed since 2000, and clearly establish the outlines that supports the territorial model that will lead the elaboration of Guidelines on Territorial Planning (DOT, Spanish Acronym), for Cundinamarca.

The workshop served to discuss with key sectors of the departmental government the Project and jointly identify the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the project and build a stakeholders map to engage in all project stages. Main issues discussed referred to equal opportunities for all, social inclusiveness, territorial identity and productive capacities, capacity development for innovation and competitiveness, connectivity (physical, human and technological), regional governance. This expects to move towards a secure, and environmentally, socially and economically sustainable territory that can become a benchmark in the country and the world. 

The workshop counted on the participation of the Governor, secretaries and directors of various offices.
