Eighth Open Seminar on SDGs "'Startups × Social Issues': Accelerating SDGs and Social Transformation" (18 March 2025, Nagoya, Japan)

The United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG/UNDESA) organized the Eighth Open Seminar on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) titled "'Startups × Social Issues': Accelerating SDGs and Social Transformation". This open seminar featured startup entrepreneurs focused on tackling social issues as the core objective of their business, supporting organizations that assist startups aiming to address social issues, and researchers in social entrepreneurship. During the seminar, active information sharing and discussions took place from a wide range of perspectives, including global to local and practical to academic, on the challenges of balancing social issue resolution with business profitability, as well as the future prospects of startups aiming to address social issues.
