The United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) will be organized the "International Training Workshop on Smart Cities for Building Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Cities and Communities," from 29 August to 1 September 2023 in Nagoya, Japan, with the support of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT), the Government of Japan. The workshop will be attended by twenty-one mayors and executive-level city officials from seventeen cities in nine countries in the Asia and Pacific.

Furthermore, in the afternoon of 1 September 2023, the "International Symposium on Local SDGs - Monitoring and Accelerating Actions towards the 2030 Agenda" is scheduled to be held after the training workshop. The event will co-organize with the Central Japan SDGs Platform and take place at the Annex Hall, Nagoya International Center.
